Hi Volker, I had a similar problem when swapping to mutt and linux. I just moved the windows mail directory into the linux mail directory where all my mail folders resided. This seemed to work for me. It's probably better to copy the folder first before moving, in case it doesn't work. Once a

thanks for the help guys. The hints did the trick. I will now try save-hooks out. I didn't think they would work for what I want, but I realise now that it is only the personal mail that I want to sort by hand; all the mail I get from lists could have a hook to put it into the right directory.

problem with save-hook

t_hook variable decides how to parse the expression. So I added the following line to my .muttrc file: set default_hook="~f %s !~P | (~P ~C %s)" I still can't get the mail to save in the linux mailbox. Could someone please point me in the right direction? regards, Andrew O'Callaghan

Instead of using the ? as a response, just type in the new mailbox name after you press 's' for +save. mutt will just create that mailbox under your mail directory. +
