I am using fetchmail -> exim -> procmail and no .forward file
is needed with exim. If it can't put a lock in Mail try changing
the Mail perms to drwxr-sr-x. And procmail won't accept mail
subdirs that you've created. You make Mail dir but don't make the
subdirs under it. That might help.

It looks at the .forward first, and that is why. You don't need a
.forward file, I would think, if you are using fetchmail in conjunction
with Procmail.
