AFAIK, this message is generated by C-Client based IMAP and POP
servers. I'm not sure if pine (being C-Client based) is also using
this message, or just ignores it.

the message is saying loud and clear that it's related to IMAP. you accessed your
mailbox from server using imap/pop, and this messages is created , basically to store
the 'state'
