For a mailbox I do not own, mutt -y does not always show the presence of new mail. In particular, if .muttrc includes mailboxes =foo and I have (group) read/write access to foo but do not own it, mutt -y apparently accesses foo. As a result the "N" flag does not appear (apparently a ra
