I end up having to use the webmail interface when I have to do this :(

Hi all,
I am trying to get a workflow setup as follows:
Need: I would like to read articles / long emails distributed in
mailing lists via kindle
step 1: browse though emails in mutt in laptop
step 2: forward some interesting emails to x...@free.kindle.com address
step 3: download the emails as

Hi all,
Is there a quick way for me to forward emails to a fixed/hardcoded
email address with say a single key press? It could work either in the
index or the pager view.

Hi,
I know there are key bindings to go up and down the mailbox folder in
the sidebar. Is there any way I can make my life a bit more easier by
binding a key to select a specific mailbox folder. For example ctrl-1
would select the first inbox, ctrl-2 the second etc.?

libtranslate looks like the way to go but being a newbie I am
struggling to figure out how to hook it to mutt. Any help?

Hi all,
Is there any easy way to translate the occasional Dutch language
emails I get into English? Does anyone know of a service that works
well with mutt?
Thanks,

Is there any easy way to do this?

Hi,
Is there any way to setup mutt (the date_format variable?) such that
in the index view, the year is shown only if the year of the message
is different from the current year? The default "%d" shows only the
"Month date".
Thanks,
SK
Thanks guys. Went with modification of my earlier script to include
"Inc" as suggested by Rado to get something which I am happy with, for
now.

I hate beeps :)

To answer my own question, one needs to use the 'status_format' setting.
I have called it like this:
set status_format="/home/sk/scripts/mutt_newmail '-%r-%v:... '|"
and the mutt_newmail script is as follows:
#!/bin/sh
if [[ "$1" =~ "New
Hi all,
I am running mutt in GNU Screen. Is there any way to change the
'name' of the mutt screen in the screen statusbar when a new email
arrives to indicate the total number of new emails?

It sure does. Thanks for your work Kyle.

Hi,
The mutt index currently lists about 50 subjects in my setup. When I
move to the next or previous set of 50 using the page-up/page-down
arrow or repeated up/down arrow, there is a delay in displaying the
next set. Is there any way to eliminate or reduce this delay?

Didn't know I could do that. It works!
Thanks everyone!

I can almost use this, except for a small hurdle. I need to set the
fcc file name based on the mailbox folder. Currently I use
'folder-hook' to do that. Is there anyway I can tweak this macro to
get the fcc filename based on the mailbox folder?

Yes, exactly, without even having to answer the "Yes/No" question (if
I set ask-yes, or ask-no option) every time.
SK
Thanks for the informative reply Kyle. I think I will use the fcc-hook
way but before that, just to reconfirm - there is no simple option
(say a key binding) that is equivalent to checking the "Save in Sent
Mail" checkbook of a web based email client?
Thanks,
SK

urse I can CC or BCC myself but that is too much "work" :)

Can mutt send mails using directly an ESMTP server? I.e. using
the AUTH extension (and other) of ESMTP?
Thanks,
