Hi Dmitry,
I cannot use /R, because of different parameters for each directory. But It
is not real problem. Problem is way to handle with long names in FOR
command under win.

Hi all,
I have lot of MP2 audio files what I want to convert to mp3 by lame. Does
somebody know win/dos (commandline is the best) utility to strip wav header

Many thanks

| You could try "WaveMP3" rel. 1.2

| Adds/strips a Wave Riff header to/from your MP3 files.
Thanks, I will try it, since I need to strip header from MP2 files.

Hi all,
I need to know exact time slices lengths (in bytes) for MPEG layers. For
example 44,1kHz MP3 has time slice cca 4ms for short frame.
MPEG1 L3 short
MPEG1 L3 long
MPEG1 L2
MPEG1 L1
MPEG2 L3 short
MPEG2 L3 long
MPEG2 L2
MPEG2 L1

Thanks to all. This is compiled from lists archive, but I think that in
archive is not oldest messages.
So. MP3 is not useable as archive quality at any bitrtate. Because of frame
overlapping, impulse response is distributed over longer time than one
granule, typically two (I am right?).

Right way is:
lame -m m -a stereofile.wav monofile.mp3

No, use sox to mergw wav files, then encode. Nogap makes encoding of files
as one, without gap, but it retain original number and lengths of files.
