The Arctic Tern was still sitting on the mud flat along the North shore of the
marsh where Bob Ekblad found it. The Black-necked Stilts had moved to the
marsh on the west side of CR 61and just north of Hwy 28.

bars. Never got good look at bill, but my initial response was, "now
that's different bird." Both birds then dove into a tree about 50

The juvenile Sabine's Gull was present from 5:30 to 6:40 this evening. The bird
took flight

A merlin flew into the small plum tree in hot pursuit of a chickadee. It
failed to snatch the chickadee, and when it wheeled to fly off it almost
bonked me in the head. Pretty exciting.

I did not have binos with me, but looked like a very thin tail. Jumped under

Continuing bird seen at feeder at 605 NE 11th Ave. in Grand Rapids at 3:14 pm
today
(1/9/17). It only stayed at the feeder for a few minutes before flying across
the road into the
conifers and disappearing.

This afternoon we had over a dozen Robins fly into the yard for about 5
minutes. The neighbor opened their garage and the robins flew off.
Have not seen one since end of October.

I rebound the Townsands Solitare found by Herb Dingman on Sunday. The bird
was just north of the creek crossing on 15th Avenue NW. This is what ortheast
of Rice and north of CR12.
