I observed a goldfinch, yesterday and today (10/29 & 30), eating a
sunflower seed by holding it in its feet like a chickadee. A first foe me.

A pair of trumpeter swan were observed flying in a NW direction midday
Friday.
There must have been a disagreement about where to go since there was a bit
of a midair kerfuffle, w/ one appearing to want to drop down to land while
the other was firmly against it - they continued on their way

I have become addicted to feeding large numbers of hummers & poof, they
just disappeared with the 90 degree temps last week.
I was afraid I poisoned them somehow even tho they clean out the feeders
quickly & I wash/rinse every time they are filled.
I wondered if with the heat the mix should be more
I have a junco hanging around the last few weeks - even after the blizzard
I did have a late one in 2016, 12/8

I have noticed a dearth of observations of this listserve, has the mission
changed?

Although not early according to the migration list, they are 2 to 3 weeks early
compared to my personal list of several years (second & third week of April)
