headed off to the northwest. 1 lone crane headed northeast by itself.
Also Redwing blackbirds are back in the swamp on our property. So great to
hear their songs again.

Saw 6 bluebirds on our morning walk of the property today, 3 pairs on or
near 3 bluebird houses.
Tree swallows arrived a few days ago as well.
1 catbird also.

The RH Woodpeckers brought two young ones to the feeders today.
The pair showed up last fall, was gone for the winter, and returned last
spring. They came occasionally early summer and then more regularly.
Hopefully they'll set up a home base here.

Wow.
That really is amazing. Especially that the bird looks healthy otherwise.
Hope it continues to do well.
Great photo.
The tree frog is a bonus, too.
Careful about talking about other critters on here, tho. Some ppl get
yelled at for doing that.
Thanks for sharing this.

this summer. All 6 are visiting my yard daily, and seem to be doing well.
A Merlin came thru last week and took a bird that I didn't see clearly. I
feared it was one of young RHs, but after checking the site where it ate
Are black vultures rare in northern MN?
I've seen them occasionally all summer long in the Hinckley area. Usually
just one alone, sometimes soaring with a group of turkey vultures.

A shrike has visited my feeder area twice this week.
More than likely a northern shrike due to the season. It flies in/out very
fast.
Any tips on what to look for in distinguishing the northern from the
loggerhead?
Also have 5 mourning doves still hanging around.
