The bird was spotted in a choke cherry tree in front of the conference center
at Deep Portage Reserve near Hackensack, Cass County, at 9:00 this morning.

The harlequin duck that has been seen intermittently over the past week or so
is in front of the marine museum at canal park in Duluth as of this writing. I

At about 10:45 A.M. two juv. MIKIs flew directly over the soccer fields at
Land of Memories Park just south of Mankato at a height of about 40 yards.
They remained at that height for more than a minute. The banded tails could
clearly be seen with the naked eye. I will post photos on MOU and FB site
As of 10:33 the bird is still in the pond near the landfill. It is about 50
yards from the road.

About 200 yards off of Wealthwood Public Access. Noticeably smaller than
common loon with strong contrast between black of neck and white throat.
Line where contrasting colors meet is straight with no jaggedness to it.

The gull was here this morning. Josh Watson and I along with a couple of
other birders got photos.
FYI: At about 11:40, a worker asked us to leave. We did not do anything
wrong but I think the group was getting too large. Please consider this if
you were planning on coming to see it.

beach area between the marina and pavilion on the edge of Detroit Lake to a
