Earlier this morning I enjoyed seeing and hearing a flock of 16
White-winged Crossbills at Bde Maka Ska (Lake Calhoun) in Minneapolis
Hennepin Co. I observed the WWCR flock from the parking lot of Thomas
Beach feasting on the abundant cone crops. I was happy to see these
beautiful birds migrate s
To add to recent White-winged Crossbill sightings in the Twin Cities, today I
observed flocks of 6 and 15 at Rebecca Lake Park Reserve and Crow-Hassan Park
Reserve, respectively. Both observations were of flyover groups, and I never

I took advantage of the break in the snow to take a walk through Oak Hill
Cemetery in south Minneapolis, where I found a small flock of 6 White-winged
Crossbills (including two bright males) near the rear of the cemetery.
