I have same issue after i update version 4.2 , I create sample like

May be, alpha version installation from scratch rather than updating from
alpha channel solves this problem.

It looks like something is wrong with your install.
Remove the Mono for Android 4.1 program from Add/Remove Programs and
re-install.
That file (and directory) definitely needs to exist for things to work.
