I've just installed the latest stable release 4.2.1 and seems to have solved
the problem.

I have a similar problem with 4.2 installed as well. If I keep restarting
VS with a device connected the device will eventually show up. But I have
to kill ADB from running between each restart.

I've got a problem with the device list now showing up any of my emulators.
They do appear when using the command line adb.exe. I've tried the classic
PC restart, restarting the adb emulation, and reinstalling. Sometimes
reinstalling does work - however it will only be a few hours later unt
