Is this "new protocol" still based on SNPP ? If so, then you could
extend Net::SNPP::Hylafax

Seems much better to just use a Fax:: category:
Fax::Hylafax
or Fax::HylafaxFOO where FOO describes what this module offers in
relation to Hylafax.
