consumption (as I assume you are if
you are looking at PSM and eDRX) you might prefer to manage the modem
completely yourself; If Modem Manager can handle this, it probably won't be
optimized for your use case

another network; in auto mode your
operator can, via OTA, update steering lists - depending on your operator)
as I say, for your operator, sim and use case this might be the best option,
but please consider other options as well :)

anager issue?
p.s this thread is regarding best practice of working with NM and MM; I will
raise a separate thread on the specific issue of the r412m over serial

figuration of the modem, perhaps
the issue lies in the MM side?
i am currently looking at the NM and MM code to dig further

s like NM as
they introduce too much overhead and for low power I want everything to be as
lean as possible (though I get we maybe have different use cases) - but again,
for me, this is fascinating as to what use cases Network Manager intends to
solve, and what it sees as out of scope

problem is really that NM can stand alone (as you describe), but
MM can't - MM would like to hand off modems to simplify itself, but there is no
clear place to do that... especially if MM wants to work without NM...
so, yes its complex for sure
ill try and get a debug log out
