The reason is that we don't trust jpeg-mmx to be a fullblown replacement
for libjpeg - it still has some bugs that would need to be ironed out
before it could be released "into the wild" .-)

Yes, the headers should be compatible, so you can remove all the redundant
ones, only the ones you name are needed additionally.
