Thanks for the info, after some googling I found out that Matrox uses the dmb1 string for their hardware decoder. I found the first instance of that in the file at about hex 70 and changed it with hexedit to MJPG, and it works now. Thanks, Al Al Adler wrote: Attached is the hexdump file

Hello, I have a number of Mjpeg avi files recorded using the windows based software that comes with a Matrox Marvel card. I'm trying to use mjpeg tools to do some transcoding of these to Mpeg2. However none of the tools seem to be able to read the frames of these files. Lavplay says "error pla
