I did upgrade X also. Directory /usr/X11R6 shows 14th february
date. I didn't delete it previously, it was not a request on
any tutorial on openbsd site.

Upgraded to lattest current. Intel g550 cpu with
2000 graphics, amd64.
Running startx, node hangs, just as in original
post.

After a bit of thinkering, I added dbus_daemon and made
xorg.conf. The system froze again, but I got log file:
