i've tried the following: route add -inet6 x/64 $thegateway but that fails because i can't reach the gateway (i'm not on the /56)

i'm trying to do the following: i have a /64 ipv6 address block. the gateway is on a /56. so i can't reach the gateway by default. how can i tell route to reach the gateway?
