I had a look at the code for top and some of the VM code. I think I have
a few more answers.
The easiest one is the calculation for the tot number in top:

Here we see that it is calculated

This should be fixed with the next amd64 packages snapshot, which
will appear sometime on Monday (UTC).

I can't use my webcam while hosting a webex session from Chrome. Specifically,
when i start my session the webcam turns on for an instant and then shuts down.

I assume you've verified/changed the boot priority in BIOS so it will try
to boot from the DVD before the main drive?
