I'm a novice user with little experience, and this is my first potential
bug. I am worried about writing a useless bug report so I thought I'd
consult misc first.
I recently upgraded to 6.0 and updated all my packages, and now
thunderbird crashes and gives a core dump. There seems to be a bug.

Check the cable to the fiber adapter first. Then:
ifconfig output will be useful,
ping output too.
ssh into the apu and stay there until the breakup is happen
OK this is interesting, and the only thing I can think of is that it
is a hardware issue that is starting to manifest itself in this odd
way.
This relates to my email earlier today about relayd.
Because of the odd way we use relayd with "/usr/bin/false" as the

Yes, it is
It seems based on the release notes that this is part of the 6.0 install. I
installed 5.9 just before the 6.0 release and then did an upgrade and do
not see that modification made in /etc/fstab post upgrade.
Expected?

I am loosing network connectivity since i installed 6.0-stable on my
apu1d4. Previously with 5.9-stable i haven't noticed any issues.
apu1d4 [1] has 3 nics
re0 -> wan -> direct connected to nucleus connect -> fiber
re1 -> wifi -> direct connected to access point
re2 -> lan -> connected to s
Yes, upgrading is on our to-do list.
But it will be a few months before we can do that.
FYI, 5.9 and 6.0 are the currently supported versions.
You won't get much help here unless you upgrade. But you might get lucky
and someone who had the exactly same problem reads your mail and decides
to help you out.
Cheers.

There are a couple of threads but everything seems to say it was a known
issue that was fixed post 5.2. But I have an extra oddity to add to it as
you will see from
