Given that git commit IDs are not monotonically increasing, does one
have to check _all_ commit IDs (between versions)?

The reason I ask is that opencl is supported out-of-the-box on mac, but
not currently on linux to my knowledge. This is a pain when trying to
develop cross-platform applications.
You can develop with OpenCL on Linux with Nvidia drivers. I guess AMD
has it, too.
