We have volunteer staff who man the main reception desk in the front
lobby. They have a list of scheduled patients and keep a sign-in sheet.
They direct the patient to the next available registrar.

At our hospital, the PFS supervisor maintains the MIS Insurance
dictionary, the HIS medical staff coordinator maintains the MIS Provider
dictionary. This has worked out very well as the expertise is applied

I think a lot of us are in the same situation. The ELF vendor will no
longer offer the chips and do not know of another company who does. Our
Meditech specialist had no suggestions, but did agree that an E-form
would be a very hard thing to do. At this point, we are going to test
the laser
We are C/S and have gone with Medisolv to overlay the DR. We are very
pleased with the product. It comes with predefined reports and you can
add through Crystal, SQL or Microsoft Reporting Services. We are
putting the finishing touches on implementation and training users.
