The project is very interesting. I had a lot of problems while compiling it on
a Debian machine (I had 5.* installed from tarball). Including that UDF by
default would be a great idea. But a UDF is not a stored procedure, so I don't
consider it as a replacement for external languages support.

For those that use or develop open source or commercial projects that use
Travis CI MariaDB has been added as a plugin.
This installs either 5.5, 10.0 or 10.1 from the latest MariaDB repo against for
testing.
Documentation isn't up yet however it is planned.

It has been talked about but .. I am not in a mood to do the porting work
again, unless there is commitment to actually accept patches.
I discussed it with Monty at around the time of Percona Live in Santa Clara
earlier this year and there was rumor of even sponsorship for the work but
