The picture should be clear. So this seems to be a new bug: I suspect a
server-related issue which prevents the Behaim application from downloading
the map data on the fly.
The maps inside the Behaim Globe application had been clear until recently.

I guess it's not being used as a property inside Marble itself.

Hello Peter,
yes you can publish your self-created maps done via Marble as part of your
book.
The historical maps that Marble ships are in the public domain, so there
are no further requirements for those.
The same applies for all other maps except for those which render streets:

what exactly would that entail? :-)
As long as all content is still intuitively reachable there should be no
issue with this.
Could you list a few steps you'd begin with? Would there be any "demo"
version available?

apparently the implementation for this feature never got committed to
master - although we had developed it at one point.
I'll check the archive and will commit it to phabricator or a branch within
the next few hours.
