I’m seriously considering switching to MailMate, but I’m having
trouble getting shared folders to work.
I have a public namespace configured on a Dovecot server. The shared
folder has always worked in Apple’s Mail.app, but I can’t see the
folder in MailMate. The configuration is as follows:

I set the hidden MmNonPrivateNamespacesEnabled feature following the
instructions at
http://manual.mailmate-app.com/hidden_preferences#imap_namespaces and
all is well.

I receive email at numerous address and often want to sort certain
folders by To. In the list, MailMate is displaying the friendly name
instead of the email address which messes up the sort… i.e., mail sent
to “ some-address@some-domain” isn’t sorted inline with

Understood. Should the file have a specific name? Or does MailMate
consume any file that’s in that directory?

I have multiple accounts configured and up until today, sending email
via a specific SMTP server based on the selected from address was
working flawlessly.
As of now, when I try to send email from my gmail account, it’s using
the wrong SMTP server which is making the send fail. Not seeing anyt
The behavior was reproducable all day yesterday. Today it seems to be
working fine. I’ll keep an eye on it.

Never mind. I recall running into this issue once before when I set it
up the first time. I ran “defaults write com.freron.MailMate
MmNonPrivateNamespacesEnabled -bool YES” and all is well.
