Marc, thanks for the suggestion. I solved this earlier and did end up
taking more or less this approach (grabbing crash logs). Tipped me off
that it was a field parser function related crash and remembered there
was a dedicated test plist for that.

Well, a day of troubleshooting and I figured it out.
There was a formatString plist entry from previous beta that was a test.
I don’t know if that feature dead-ended or not, but having the
specifiers.plist file around at all causes the crash on any post 5898
build.

So I can’t move to 5918.
I appreciate the link to the manual but rebuild was about the first
thing I tried moving to a build later than 5898, no joy.

Have you tried to launch MM from terminal ?
That way you might be able to see where and when MM crashes.
Which MacOS are you on ?
