The last several betas have exhibited the same behavior: the inbox is
continually checked ever second, or so it appears: the inbox count alternates
with the spinning wheel once a second. It never stops.
Activities shows:
H11 logout
H8 NOOP
H10 UID MOVE 860:867, 871:904;912, 950:956 INBOX.TRASH
I looked and could not find a way to change the color of the little menu-bar
"dot". I use one to show that there are unread messages.
For years it has been red with a white number.
Now it's orange, and the white number is almost unreadable.

It's failing because the current location
is not seen as being writable, or the copy of MM itself cannot be altered.
Command sragging to the desktop and then command dragging into the
/Applications should repair those possible problems.
Don't over think this.

My host is trying to chase down a synchronization error.
Recent, I got a spate of error boxes upon launch of MM, pointing to something
(IN ALL CAPS) that apparently changed on the host and caused MM to re-sync or
re-load all the messages. The ALL CAPS was (I believe) some kind UID.

Someone was asking about email archivers and the "best" searching.
I recommended MailSteward previously, so this time I'll point out that it uses
the industry standard mySQL or SQLite, and so can be searched not only from
within the MS program
Try holding down the command key while dragging the application to the desktop.
Let go of the key and the mouse button, then do it the other way: hold down
command and drag the app back to your desired folder.
Not saying this IS the solution to your problem, but "failure to update" is a

I recently updated 10.15.4 with yesterday's "security" update. While I
cannot say that's the reason, here's what I'm seeing today:
Using the trashcan icon* to delete an email deletes (moves to the trash)
not only the selected email, but the one directly below it. Command Z
returns them both
Try this:
find Mailmate in your apps folder.
Hold down the command key and drag it to the desktop
Again, hold down the command key and drag it back into the apps folder.
See if it works.

Both can be configured to run automatically whenever you like.
Chronosync is extremely versatile, and can out-do TM in its level of

Found it. Somehow the MAILBOXES/Inbox had gotten a condition added to
it. I suppose it happened during the SPOD incident. Don't understand how
or why, really, but removing the condition restored the default
behavior.
