Praveen,
I am using latest http://elementaryos.org/ and google-chrome. I am able to
read malayalam letters properly in sites like manorama/mathrubhoomi etc.
But problem is only with few sites including http://smc.org.in/ . I am not
sure which font is loaded when I access those sites.
