Microphone Input Volume Keeps Changing

Hello, I use a USB microphone. When I have it plugged in, and am recording, I have to constantly adjust the input volume. The only way I can get a loud enough sound is to have it at 100%, but it regularly adjusts itself to anywhere from 65% to 89%, and it keeps doing so. Is there a way I can s

No reason it shouldn't be possible, does it work if you use something like QuickTime to record? Sometimes I find that if I change input sources, I have to unselect and then reselect the one I want before it really takes hold. Or just restart the application and it should work. Obviously check

iTunes Notifications
