I have voiceover utilities set to increase or change pitch when encountering a
capital letter. Today after the latest Sonoma update, the pitch change is so
off the charts it sounds like somebody getting squeezed in a very private part
of their anatomy if you know what I’m saying. How can I lesse
Isn’t it though? Almost reminds me of Mickey Mouse, but had no idea as to
whether ornate there was a workaround for it, or if we’re just stuck with it,
and the high pitch change drives me crazy.

First, connect the iPhone and make sure it is unlocked.
Open Finder using CMD plus shift plus H.
You should now find your iPhone in the sidebar.

I don't know of any work around, as far as I know there is no way to set the
pitch separately for indicating capital letters.

I also do not see the iPhone in my Finder. iPhone 14 Pro with latest iOS 17 and
MacBookPro with Sonoma 14.5. Never have seen the iPHone show up in Finder. All
types of media are checked in the Finder settings.

update, so updated Ventura. And still no joy.
