Just wanted to give my opinion here. The Mac is really good with Bluetooth
and other devices! For example on Windows even using the Jaws cut off
speech option Bluetooth is still flaky for me. I like the fact that I can
just pick up my airpods and connect to them with my Mac it's seamless just

The only thing I don’t like is about my particular MacBook. It’s a 2019 model

could buy, and it shows even in little things like moving from
I personally have not noticed any degradation of accessibility on the MacOS

I think that Mac OS is usable with VoiceOver. Because people say that
accessibility on Mac OS with VoiceOver is worse and worse.

Chrome OS and Linux users would have additional bases of comparison.
I'm in the latte
I would definitely get a newer model as that is a limitation of yor machine.

I do use both. I teach online, and I do prefer to do most of my teaching stuff
on the PC. However, to be fair, I’m not sure whether my feeling that that is
easier is because it really is easier, or because it’s habit and I have good
muscle memory for it. On the other hand, I prefer to do most

part of that is because I don't know all the little tricks around all

I agree about the VO keys. Many things on the Mac require the use of several
keys at once that on Windows can be accomplished with just one or two keys.

Try using the Caps Lock for VOkey. Also try using qucik nav.
This simplifies things immensely.

what is qucik nav? Where would I go to make the vo keys capslock?

QuickNav locks the VO keys on, so you only have to press the modifier key. In
my experience, it creates havoc, so I don’t use it, though to be fair, I
haven’t tried to use it in several years, so that may have changed. But you
turn it on by pressing the left and right arrow keys together. You

Hi all, is there a keyboard shortcut to toggle airplane mode on/off? I’m
looking for an easy way to do this instead of navigating to control center etc.
Thanks,

I don’t think Quick Nav is what you are thinking it is. Quick Nav is used on
web pages for single-letter navigation. VO lock is invoked with VO+semicolon.

It is set to use the Caps lock and Control option keys by default. You can
disable one of those under general in the VoiceOver Utility. I use it all the
time with no problems. I don’t use quicknav that often. It’s similar to having
your virtual pc cursor off in Jaws. The caps lock key makes the
Ah, you’re right. Sorry. Like I said, it’s been years since I’ve used either,
because I find the problems they create are more trouble than they’re worth.

I’ll toss in something that has been consistent with VO recently. When entering
user name and passwords on web pages (both Safari and Edge) there is a
significant lag in speaking the titles to the edit fields.
I tab to the first field and type my user name. Then tab to the password field.

In Safari, you can always do VO Right instead of tab.

Sure, but it still remains that VO is less responsive lately.

HI!
In what way is it worse and worse?
It might be something you don’t know that make things harder for you to use
VOiceOver.
One thing I have issues with myself is that braille is harder to navigate with.
Harder to read with too.
But braille has been something I have been trying to give feedback
But that’s a perfect example of what some of us are talking about. VO-right is
three keys, Tab is one. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a huge fan of Windows or
Microsoft. Mostly I much prefer the user experience on the Mac. I just think
there are certain things that can be done more efficiently o

Not for me - it has been consistently responsive since I bought the 14-inch
MacBook Pro.

Two keys if you use Caps lock. I thought this was something that would drive me
crazy about the Mac, coming from a Windows background, but so what if we have
to do an extra key. I don’t like it if I’m doing long term reading, but it
helps if you think of it in terms of function. Press the key on
Hi!
One thing that I had difficulties getting used to was this interacting thing.
Its very much different from how jaws or similar presents the screen.

Update, I have managed to fix it at least for now. I press and hold on the trackpad and that seems to bring up the login and password field. Also it’s a mix of turning VO on and off again. It works. It’s by no means perfect, hopefuly this gets resolved in a feature update or something. thanks for e
I upgraded to Ventura and I can’t stand the voice that I got. I went into v/o

I just use Siri on my iPhone to do this.
If you were speaking of the Macintosh, then, if there is a shortcut for
airplane mode, this could be done to create a shortcut that would then be
executed by a voiceover hockey.

Usually, it means that VoiceOver read the change from an autofill dialog on
those edit boxes. I get this a lot when typing in an address, typically 3
characters and it will autofill and tell me selection has been replaced. 99
times out of 100, this works very well.
