Actually, if you can install wget, you can acquire the video file and then use
ffmpeg on it to break out the audio only. I have done this downloading
audiobooks from YouTube. Works like a charm.

Btw, I also have an alternative that I use. Download using wget and then open
for streaming/saving in VLC. From there, choose audio and the bitrate and
choose a location to save. It should open up a dialog that will allow you to
choose the location and the filename you want to save it as.

Hi Eric, there was a time, back when I actually worked with computers for a
living, that I would’ve been very interested in doing that. Now though, I’m

keeps me from starting any new downloads. I have tried clearing inactive
downloads but the app thinks they are active. But they begin but n
There is an app called Youtube-dl. You can install this through Home-brew in
the Terminal. It is pretty easy to use, but it is a command line tool, so you

Hi Anders, like I said in my original post I mostly use iOS. That’s because I
developed carpal tunnel and can’t really use a computer keyboard anymore
without risking damage to my hands. So even though VLC and your other
suggestions might actually work, it’s more than I can do since it involves
