Actually, an app like that would certainly be handy. There is an app on the App
Store called crypto disks and files explorer. Not sure if there is the same for
OS X. This was just one of the things I found when I did a search for “file
encryption” via my iPhone.

I know I did this for my Mojave install many months ago. This allows me to see
the documents folder on my iPhone as well as on my Mac.

There are a couple of ways to do this. The following is my recommendation
because I think is the easiest way.
1. Go to System Preferences > Internet Accounts.
2. Select iCloud from the Internet Accounts table.
3. Navigate to the iCloud Services table.
4. Interact with the table and navigate

Very concise, and it does spark a slight recollection of doing this long ago.
I’ve copied it and will have handy so I can do it when I have my Catalina OS up
and running.

You can also do this by going to System Preferences > Apple ID, though like I
said, doing it through Internet Accounts is simpler.
