thanks, Jonathan. I had forgotten where the braille verbosity settings were - I
was looking under braille, not verbosity. (Duh) That helped a lot.

Hi all,
Since updating to the latest iteration of Big Sur, I can no longer use
Command-A to read a whole email message. When I try, VO seems to get stuck in
the header at the top of the message, and keep repeating that over and over
again. Anyone know what's up. Is there a new command for accom
Hi. What I know so far is that if I hold the iPhone steady as I walk,
I never mind how fast I walk, and I walk relatively fast at 6 KPH.
According to Apple Watch, the iPhone is not complaining. That being

Hello Donna,
I haven’t updated yet but here are some suggestions:
1. Did you try VO + a?
2. If you open an e-Mail using Enter VO should read its content automatically.
All the best

If I'm not mistaken, CMD + A, should select all.
The command to begin reading from the current position of the VoiceOver cursor
is, VO + A.
On my MacBook Pro, running the latest update of Big Sur, this command works as
expected.

Oh, and no. pressing Enter to open a message used to result in VO reading the
whole message, but it doesn't seem to any more.

Nope. See last message. That was actually what I meant to say, but it doesn't
work.

So I just did a bit of testing. It seems to work with regular email messages.
The message I'm having trouble with is a newsletter, so it contains headings
and images.

OK, Newsletter are always a bit difficult.

Try interacting with the body of the message, and see if the command VO + A,
will work.

Hi everyone. I am working with a student who is using a Brailliant 32. I have
used this display in the past, but it was a few years ago. None of the commands
for VoiceOver work for the display and I think they need to go into the
commands table to fix it. As I don't have a display anymore, where

Perhaps the content is not accessible.
I receive inaccessible newsletters from various senders frequently.
The content of these newsletters is an inaccessible graphic that contains
information that looks nice to sighted recipients, but is unreadable by a
screen reader.

1. Open VoiceOver Utility using VO + F8.
2. Select Navigation from the Utility Categories Table, or press CMD + 3.
3. Navigate to the item labeled "Synchronize keyboard focus and VoiceOver
cursor”, and make sure the checkbox is checked.

Hi Matthew,
Check in the VoiceOver Utility (VO+F8). Select Braille in the categories table,
then select the tab for Displays. Use the Tab key to move through the settings
and you will find commands there. I’m not sure how to use or set commands for a
display.
HTH.

This is readable, just not by using VO-A.

I have also found this with certain formatted emails. It’s not necessarily a
situation where it isn’t readable. It’s just something specific to the
formatting that seems to cause VoiceOver not to be able to read it from top to
bottom.

OK, thanks for confirming. that is exactly the situation. Like Brad, I've
received newsletters that are unreadable, but that isn't the case with this
one. It just doesn't work with VO-A.

Hi Eileen,
So great to hear from you, I hope you and your husband are well.
I think the issue here is, because I don’t have a Braille display, the commands
button won’t show up. God bless.

Yes, I don’t think the, assign commands, button will be available unless you
have an active Braille display connected.
