here's how to select multiple files in a folder that aren't next to each other. 1. open the folder where the files are and interact. 2. vo-arrow down until you hit the first file you want to include and press vo-command-enter. this will select the file. 3. continue to vo-arrow down. each time you

The other thing I can think of is the search functionality. pressing control-option-F should bring you to the search entry area. If you want to select all mp3 files, you should be able to type mp3 press down arrow twice. Then check your filters to make sure you are searching just in downloads,
