We have a student using zoom on the mac to attend a lot of different
online conferences. He stays muted unless he wants to speak then he
holds down the spacebar and speaks and releases it when he is finished
talking. The issue which arises is VO gives the announcement abouted
being unmuted and has

to the best of my knowledge, there is no way to do this, other than muting
Voiceover, which he probably does not want to do. My recommendation would be
that he just wear headphones. That will solve the problem.

Hi,
Try adding a commander to mute voice over on the Mac.
I use options plus tilder.
To mute and unmute on the fly.
So, press the hot key to mute and speak, then press it again to unmute.
