More urgent queries re setting up my Mac and the log-in screen with Voiceover

I’m not really sure from your description what is going on. If it’s just the standard login window, you should just have to type your password, unless you have multiple accounts on the system. If FileVault is off, there should be no prompt for the account name and then the password. Take
