I concur with E.T.. Abbyy Fine Reader is probably the best application for OS X
so far as OCR goes. It is comparable to Kurtzweil 1000 for windows.
There are quite a few options so far as OCR goes. Some of the apps are free,
but most of those aren't very good. there are a couple in the app stor

correct. Since it is an iMap account, you could safely remove the account from
the Internet Accounts pane of System Prefs, quit System Prefs to ensure
everything is "killed", then go back into System Prefs, Internet Ac

There's got to be something causing a conflict. Sometimes these sorts of
conflicts take more time to figure out than just wiping and reinstalling like
you're suggesting.
