Hi andy, If your recording local bands and Church events save your self some headaches and get Avid Pro tools! I run a 250 track Avid Pro tools recording studio with a hdx system and VoiceOver is working very well with it. I and the rest of the beta teem for Pro tools are "on it" so to speak!

I think the 2 GB of RAM will be the issue if you go beyond Mavericks. I don't think anything beyond that will even run on a 2009 machine. I would try Mavericks on it and see how it feels. If it runs fine, you're good. I don't recall what Yosemite's minimum requirements were, but I think 2 GB o
