So if the drag and drop feature doesn’t suit you then basically just copy the
file over with a standard copy commando and you can do a standard paste
operation or you can do a Option Command V for actually moving the file and
pasting it in to the folder.

I don't believe that it's possible to do things in the way that you are
suggesting. The front pane of the Messages app lists the conversations and
they are only accessed by opening the thread or conversation itself. I have
not found the bug you're speaking of to be an issue as of yet sinc
