Scott, Christine did say 10.12.2, so I'd assume that it's the MacOS that is causing the frustration. It sounds to me that the Installer log is confused. There are ways of editing the log, but it would probably be much easier simply to find the stand-alone installer for 10.12.2 on Apple's site
