Goodmorning everyone, we just intalled windows 8.1 on my mac. the only problem
for me now is the ALT key. do i have to remap my keyboard? by the way i use
bootcamp to install windows pro.

Congratulations. This is my solution for the keys that I would need to be
efficient in using Windows inbootcamp. When I have a heavy amount of word
processing and need to use the JAWS keystrokes, I plug in a full USB Microsoft
keyboard. If I need something more portable, I'll plug in an USB NumP
after you go to the startup disk preference pain and find the radio button for
the "untitled" volume, hit vo-shift-h to read its help tag. Voiceover should
tell you what OS it is on that volume. If you're still unsure, just enter the
"untitled" volume with finder and just look around and see if
actually there was no trick i was with my mom all the way. i just downloaded
the iso file on the web then install it. about the alt key, i thought it was
the same menus on the windows 7 before if you go to the settings. but now you
have to search for it. no more lot of pressing alt.

The developers have never been very open to the idea, but I think that's mostly
because the Mac API for making a voice is complex. I've given it a try, a
couple times, and didn't get far because I don't know enough about the
mechanics of speech synthesis.

I have been running Mavericks since it's release. I have a WD firewire drive.
The utility says that I have no firewire ports. I am still able to access my
backups using USB but would prefer to use the firewire port. Will I need to do

That's because you're in full screen mode. The menu bar doesn't show in full
screen mode. Press Control+Command+F to switch to single view mode and the menu
bar will be available. Either mode works fine and doesn't affect the operation
of the VM - but full screen comes at the cost of the menu ba
