I followed the steps on the below guide, and it worked perfectly. I chose the
command line option as it seemed the easiest. Warning: auto-play video, but the
audio is very quiet so you should be able to hear your screen reader over it.

Hi Tristan,
I have only two apps I cann't update after updating to Mavericks, Iphoto and

Hi all, Since we’re on the discussion of partitions, I unfortunately
made the mistake of getting the Yosemite dev preview and made a new
partition on the same drive as my BootCamp partition. Once the public
beta came out, I attempted to remove this partition because I learned
that I can’t have more
The command you now need is:

The only time I consider Disk Utility to be reliable with VoiceOver is when

of the CLI. But ultimately you can do more with the disk
Boot the Mavericks installer from external media or the network, and use Disk

one partition, Mac OS Extended Journaled, with the maximum size (default).

Hi all, Has anyone gotten an error when sending emails on a Gmail iMap

Ugg, this is annoying having to send it via the Gmail web interface.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure I'll need help with all of that. Lol. I've
created and resized partitions before, but I'm not sure how to change
it to the GUID scene with the CLI, etc. Also, how do I boot the

I quit using flip4mac when they started watermarking anything played through

Listers,
I came across a flash content which the helpdesk people recommended I should

Let's keep this as simple as possible, eh? No command line required at this
time. All data on the startup disk will be spifflicated.
Disk Utility is in the installer. All you have to do is get the installer
running somehow.

Ffmpeg is a tool that you obtain and run using the command line. Indeed, I

Flash content, sadly, is known not to be accessible on OS X.
Did you get anything from the video? Most installation videos really don't
tell you anything you couldn't figure out by just reading the manual or
following the instructions. :)

Hi,
Since Mavericks this has been an ongoing issue. Gmail handles imap really
poorly.
Some fixes that you can try are going to the folders and labels section of
settings while in the standard web view (you’ll have to use the mouse on the
icons with vo+command+f5), then turn off imap for the arc
Well crap. Yosemite isn't letting me get Mavericks because it's
complaining that I already have 10.10, why would I possibly want to
downgrade?
I guess I'm kind of stuck now. Unless I can find the installer some place else.

But why not? I mean why is flash not accessible? It seems counter-intuitive.
With so much progress and accessibility that apple has given us, why not flash?
Any work about this? And to the point, no, I needed to watch the video to get
what I wanted.

I believe you are waisting time.
If you only have 10 gigs free, than you can't shrink it down any more. You
need 8 gigs for installation and another 15 percent of that for updates. That
gives you an absolute minimum of 9.2 gigs.
As I said before, if disk utility won't let you shrink something,
Well, that's kind of weird. However, I don't think it's anything to sweat. It
seems pretty solid to me and it will be released in a month or two anyway. As
soon as I see a small mail issue corrected, I plan on putting it on my main
partition.

According to Finder, I have a 60GB hard drive total, and about 20GB of total
free space to work with. I'm making the Yosemite partition 15GB, or trying to,
which should be enough room.

I might add here concerning flash. Apple has nothing to do with flash. Flash is
developed by Adobe and quite frankly, I don't think Adobe cares much at all
about accessibility. This is my opinion; yes, Adobe has funded NVDA development
but PDF documents are more less accessible on Windows but th

According to your du list output, you had a 51.5 gig main partition and you
said that finder reports 10 gigs free. You can't shrink the 51gb partition
down to 45gb with only 10gb left.

Remember that any unallocated space after the partition is available for use.
Even if you couldn't shrink from 51G to 45G with the available 10G, which even
by my lamentable arithmetical powers would seem to be possible with 4G left
over, then you should still have sufficient space on the whole
It's not updating that's the problem though, it's getting the installation to
even boot.
As far as I can see there are two options: use InstaDMG to build an installed
image with 10.6.6 or later already applied, or else use another Mac and target

If the application is already in your Applications folder (do check for

build your USB media.

Well, I had this issue. If you have a 8GB thumb stick, or a external hard
drive you can partition, then you can create a bootable installer with disc
maker X. You boot in to that, and then your able to wipe the main hard drive
and install mavericks.

Get to the Virtual Machine Library by pressing Command+Shift+L. Then find the
table, interact with it, find your machine, and hit the delete key. Answer to
move it to the Trash, and then empty it (after checking it out first).
