Hi Nic,
I've noticed this behaviour for some time, certainly in Maverick, and I think
it started happening after I'd upgraded to Maverick. I would delete a
character but VO announces a different character from the one I've just
deleted. I thought it was curious but did not follow it up with A
Hello Phil,

Hello Nic,
I hadn't paid attention to this before, but you're right. It certainly happens
in Pages, but not in Mail.

Hi,
I've gone for the 11 inch myself. I maxed everything out on it and find it is
plenty good enough for me. If you don't need a built in SD slot, it has
everything the 13 inch does, and easy enough to get any adaptors you need for
connections it doesn't have, such as Ethanet if you want that.
Hello,
I will ditto what David said. The way I handle a DVD/CD ROM drive is using an
external one. There are plenty out there that shouldn't cost more than $20. The
one I have is from my PC netbook days that didn't have an internal DVD drive.
Just make sure that the drive is compatible for Macs
Yes, I tried inserting two return characters, copying them and inserting them
into the find field. the find/replace button remains dimmed and VO doesn't
recognize those characters.
BTW: I recently installed Nysus Writer Pro demo version and now in the services
menu, instead of the option to open
Many externals just work, even if they don't say they are compattible, and we
are needing such drives less and less often now anyway.

Hi There!
so, OK, I feel like a total dweeb now!
We found out that the HP printer we had was discontinued. It was the 1505. We

Hello there,
When I use Option Shift Right or Left arrow to select text I need to copy for a
class I seem to be a line or two above what I really want to copy. One of the

Can someone help me out with this?

I suggest Abby Fine Reader. If your a student you can get aa discount too. It
normally costs $99.95 but if you get the 30% discount you get it for $65.95. I
love it. I just bought it a couple days ago and it's already made my life
easier.

Model numbers are tricky. These types of devices turn over a lot and model
numbers vary by region. Maybe you should pick two or three that you have
access to so you can look at them. Then we can help you research their
accessibility.

Hey all,
This is a really strange annoying issue that just started occurring recently in

quickly go through some notes, and instead of going to the next line Pages will
jump to the bottom of a document. I know this b

Hi there
I used TextEdit all the time, and I have never had this problem. What I do is I
have all the cursors following each other in the voiceover utility, including
the mouse cursor. So you want to go to to the voiceover utility and see what
cursors are following each other.

Ok, this sounds interesting!
My question is do you have instructions for building screen and bratillety on
the mac? I don't think the stock version of screen supports shared memory
which is required for bratillety. '

I really would like to put out an updated version of how to do this but I just
don't have time right at the moment; will do it when I can. You have to have
screen-4.0.1 and you have to patch it for brltty. In the Patches directory of
the brltty source package you will see the needed patches and

Hello Brian,
Have you changed any of your VO settings recently? I find that everything works
better when my mouse pointer ignores the other cursors. Also, have you got
Quick Nav on?
After that, my next suggestion is to repair permissions.
For the record, I'm having no such problem with Pages.
Hi,
Whenever you get weird things like this, it's always worth quitting and
restarting VoiceOver. Also, have you checked if you have any system dialogs? Do
vo-f1 twice quickly, (written as VO-f1-f1) and if you have any system dialogs
or notifications, right arrow into them, select them and act
I'd also recommend making sure you interact with the text area and check that
your cursors are following each other properly by navigating with VO and arrow
keys. It's possible to navigate in TextEdit just using the arrow keys, but
sometimes this means the VoiceOver cursor gets left behind somew
Thanks, all, I'll report it to Apple Accessibility. and Alex, if this still
exists in the beta it would be great if you could report it as well.

I like to use a program called id3 edit. I don’t remember the original source
right off top of my head; they aren’t in the app store. I use that all the time
before placing tracks into iTunes. that way iTunes can store them in their
proper places in the library.

RE the services issue I think you might find the TextEdit still there if you
