Hello Everyone,
In this approximately 8 minute episode of the Candle Shore Podcast, I
demonstrate Awareness, the headphone App that lets you listen to music and
the outside world at the same time. This marvelous App will forever change
the way you listen on your iOS device.

Hi,
This explanation doesn’t make sense to me. What do you mean by transferring
mail into appropriate formats? What will Apple Mail import from? I must
admit I’m wondering if a MobileMe trial is the best way to do this now?
Any help appreciated as Mac expected any day!
Cheers
Dave

Hello Chris,
You can read the current line with VO-l, current sentence with VO-s and current
paragraph with VO-p. There are also commands for previous and next of all these.
You can find all these commands by pressing VO-h twice and going to the Text
menu.

Hi Mike and Mark:
Perhaps it's because I haven't disabled preview pane. I am able to open and
close messages with ctl-mouse-click, much as one would with VO-j. It's the
only reason I can think of, as I didn't even realize I've been viewing preview
pane. HMMM, always learning.

Hi Listers,
I finally got around to installing adium but I have one annoying problem.
Adium keeps saying empty before a contacts name is there anyway to stop this
behavior thanks in advance.

You can have thunderburd export as mbox format and mail will import those very
nicely. I've had to do it before through tb. I googled an article on how to do
it and that was the best free way to do it.

I have no idea. I'll have to ask that one. they say that they are working on
accessibility but that we have to wait until they compile in to other formats
like lynux first. It's a shame as they were willing and able to work on the
windows version about 3 years ago and make it very very accessib
Thanks. I’m surprised nobody apart from seemingly TB can import Outlook
mail. You’d think Apple would have an Outlook importer that could just look
at a .pst and import the lot! Oh well!
At least I know I can do it.
Thanks

I haven't wanted to respond as I only had to do this once, and don't exactly
remember how it was accomplished. However, you can import directly both
contacts and your email settings. And you don't need thunderbird to do so.
You can set up a network, or you can work with I think Microsof
yeah that would be nice but ah well. that method I found on that internet
article works. I just am glad I don't have to do it again!
Take care.

I did not have my computer hooked up to a network so I was working from 2
computers and a external hard drive so I had to use thunderbird. Good idea
though for those that can do it.

Hi guys.
I don't know if this have been a topic... But I try anyway...
On my iPod Touch, I've set up my gmail using exchange.
When I read a mail on my iPod, and go to my computer, the mail is still
marked as unread...
Does anyone know if it shall be that way?
If not, what should I do to make it
Hi,
Why don't you switch your gmail account over to imap? I think this might be
less troublesome in the long run.

gmail imap does not support push notifications. It only supports fetch at least

The way I do this is, before switching applications, I turn off cursor
tracking, then I reenable it when I go back to preview, and pick up where I
left off.

Oh I didn't even think of that. I use curser tracking off to follow skype chats
or adium messages or for a noncontiguous select but that's about it.
Thanks for bring another idea to me.

Hi guys,
Sometimes, the finder will pop up a dialog when it wants to tell me something.
If I don't get to it right away, or if I command-tab away for a moment, it
disappears for voiceover, but not on the screen. I am wondering, how can I get
back to it with Voiceover?

This may sound like a dumb question, but have you tried bringing up the window
chooser in Finder? To bring up the window chooser, you hold down the VO keys
and hit f2 twice in rapid succession. You should see the finder window you need
there. It might say something like "alert".

Yup that usually works for me too or the item chooser for the desktop

Thanks Rose and Chris,
These both worked for me. Thank goodness. :)

They are impressive figures indeed. For the sake of productivity,
accessibility, and for many other reasons, I hope companies look at Mac to
go with their iPads more seriously. They generally go for expensive laptops
anyway, so I suspect costs would be lower after the transition!
