Anyone know if I can use Sound Studio to record Skype calls? I know I
can with Audio Hijack pro, but I'd rather not buy another piece of
software just for this.

I've been asked to co-present a program about Macintosh and VoiceOver
at the ACB Mid-Atlantic conference on 10/30 in Baltimore. I have not
yet tried the presentation programs in either iWork or OpenOffice,
does anyone with experience using such have a little time to help me

was, but I have it now. Now I jst meed it to start where I am and not

Yes you can, but you can also set up a folder and burn through the
finder as well. Or where ever your constructed folder may be if it's
a (burn folder.)

having with my USB drive. It often fails to show up on the desk top
when I start my Mac. I have to restart the machine, or to turn it off

I think this is a bug in sl. mine does the same thing. I find the
easiest way to get to it if it doesn't show up is to open up a new
finder window and go to the sidebar and look under devices. you'll see
it there and can then access it.

What provider do you currently have? I'm heading to Madrid next week and
I ended up just getting another phone for that period of time. The costs
for my iPhone AT&T US plan to use it overseas was crazy expensive per
minute and the data charges were worse. I'll still have my iPhone but

Seems like you could do this on most any flavor of Macbook. Only thing
that might narrow your choices would be what your audio production
software requires.

Actually, the problem occurs on computers using in Tiger and Leopard
(I don't have Snow Leopard yet). I will try your suggestion to open a
new finder window, however. Hopefully, that will work for me, too.

when I was using leopard. it's only since upgrading to snow leopard
that it's been a bit flaky. still, try a new finder window, or /

How I do it is to create a playlist, put in the songs or whatever I
want into it, then go to the playlist in the sources, then just to
verifythings are in order will check the songs listed, then back out
of that interaction and vo right arrow and there is a burn function.

In fact, that is set automatically when you run VoiceOver for the
first time on Snowy as default I believe. You can, however, change it
so that it reads them 0.5 seconds after speaking the item you're
focused on in the VoiceOver Utility>Verbosity>Hints tab.

to plug it in, lol.
All I know is it read for me and did what I asked it to do both on the
web and in a text file. I'm definitely not going to complain if it's

inactivity, the Mac turns off its audio circuit, which causes the
