I’m trying to understand how playlists work on youtube. a friend sent me a link
to a playlist and the short videos followed one after the other until I stopped
them. when I went to the same channel and played the most recent video it
stopped there. how do I get them to play continually?

supported by YouTube Studio. Go to a search entry and simply put in:
YouTube +chapters
And you get a series of howto docs on adding them. YouTube even supports
automated chaptering, but we haven't found that
