First, Voice Control is not a part of VoiceOver, and therefore it cannot be
added to the rotor.
It can be enabled under Accessibility via a toggle.
Secondly, Voice Control is not new in iOS 18.
Voice Control was unveiled during WWDC in 2019, and presumably was included in
that year’s iOS
Hello,
This is a new option available in iOS 18 that can be added to the
rotor. I don't see it. Can anyone confirm it is there? Thanks.

Yes Gabe you’re right, on the Mac voice control interprets what it hears from
voice as your dictation which gets some pretty screwy results as you say. In
order to use it you really have to use headphones to keep voiceover in your ear
and not in voice controls microphone ear. All that said I’ve
Hi,
I've never used voice control on a Mac. However, I can say that I do not
recommend it at least on an iOS device for someone who uses VoiceOver. It tends
to listen to everything you say and in a text message or email you can get
double entries of everything because it thinks you

Hi Kelly, thanks. I do use dictation but I’m hoping to look into voice control
for the editing commands it has. It’s funny how we never read a full message
and miss so much. You’ll notice that I said in my message that I used dictation
for the bulk of my typing. Funny how that works.

Hi,
I don’t use Voice Control but I do use Dictation fairly often to enter text.
You can configure this so a double press for example of the control key turns
on dictation, enter your text by voice and tap control again.

They confirmed that voiceover and voice control can be used together.

Hi Phil,
To the best of my knowledge you will need the Dot. You will use the Alexa app

Hello,
I am running IOS 13.1.1 on an iPhone 8. I set up Voice Control to try it out
and it worked OK. However VoiceOver on my phone speaker sometimes upset Voice
Control so I turned Voice Control off. I then plugged in headphones and tried
to turn on Voice Control again. It claimed to be on

I understand that voice control does not have the blind and visually impaired
as its primary audience. However, a friend of mine has upgraded his phone and

Hi donna and all,
I tried doing voice dictation using the new voice control interface on Iphone.
It picks up VO sound. The rest is catastrophe. How do I go for dictation on
Iphone or Mac and still get a credible feedback with the aid of VO? Kindly
explain the steps involved.

It is already there, both voice control of functions and dictation of text.

Great to know that Donna.
How do I set it up? Does voiceover echo every phrase?
Kindly let me know Donna.
