Try doing command shift a after you place your cursor at the point where you
want the file to attach. I usually type my name at the bottom and then press
return twice then do Then I press return and then I press command shift d to
send. Works every time for me.

In that case, consider it may be an issue on his end. If you check if the
attachment is within the message, you should have no problems.
If the attachment is but he does not see the message, consider the following.
